KidLiz Week Prompt 1- Tea

             Liz woke up against her will at about three in the morning. Deciding to use this chance to get something to drink, she trudged through the dark hallways and finally found her destination. Before she could stop, she crashed into something she couldn't see. She presumed it to be the door to the kitchen she had forgotten to open, but it spoke, so that was obviously not the answer. Liz stood up quickly, embarrassed that she ran into someone. She let her eyes adjust quickly, and saw the shorter form of Kid.
"Sorry Kid, didn't see ya there..." she trailed off awkwardly, looking down on him. She extended her hand to help him up and as he took it, she felt heat slowly creep into her cheeks in the form of a blush. Kid laughed quietly as she quickly looked away to hide her face.
             "Come on Liz, you don't have to hide. Come on, want something to drink? I assume that's why you're here, no?"
Per usual, Kid was right. Liz quickly nodded and followed him into the kitchen, not running into the door, either. Kid quickly went to work, making the drink he had not disclosed to Liz. Whatever it is smells amazing. she decided, closing her eyes and smiling as she inhaled. After about another ten minutes of working over the stove, Kid turned to face her with two small mugs of the piping-hot, nice-smelling liquid. "It's Tamaryokucha tea. Tsubaki gave some of the leaves a while back and I never used them until now. I find it quite tasty myself."
              Liz looked gratefully up at her meister and took the cup in his arm extended in her direction. He sat down across from her with his own cup and began to quietly sip it. Liz gave it a try herself after a few moments of observing Kid do so. She lifted the small glass cup to her face and closed her eyes as the warm liquid filled her mouth. It had a berry-like, earthy taste to it she found soothing. She smiled at Kid after setting the mug back down on the table. To keep this from getting awkward, she decided to try and strike up a conversation with the boy in front of her. "So what woke you up this early?" she asked, even when she didn't know the answer when she asked herself the same thing.
              "It's bitterly cold and I couldn't get warm, so I came to make some tea. I had hoped I'd run into someone else to share it with, but I didn't think it would happen literally." Liz blushed again at the thought and immediately took another drink of tea to cover herself. Kid grinned at her and laughed a bit before blushing himself for some reason. Her I can understand, but why am I blushing? Kid attempted to use the same tactic to cover his red face as Liz did, but Liz said the same thing he did to her in their initial contact that night. "Come on Kid, you don't have to hide."
              Kid laughed a bit and placed his hand gently on Liz's. "You're funny sometimes, Liz. I like that. Don't change, okay? Thanks for having tea with me, I think I'm going to go back upstairs now." He started to get up, but Liz grabbed his hand quickly. Kid turned around, rather surprised. "Elizabeth? Are you okay?" Liz bent over slightly and pecked him on the lips. "Now I am. Thanks for the tea, Kid! Good night!" Liz half-skipped and half-ran back to her room, blushing like mad. Kid laughed and shook his head. "Silly girl, you beat me to it."
